We have had a long relationship with Centurion Club, near St Albans, just outside London. In February of 2021, Golf Monthly magazine announced that they were one of the key UK destinations for a round of golf and some great food. We have enjoyed many a round here (and lost more than a few balls) and can attest to its newly acquired status.
The club, which has appeared on screens over the past few years as the host of the GolfSixes tournament, was only opened for play in 2013 but has quickly proven to be a firm but fair challenge to golfers of all abilities. To be ranked in the same company as the likes of Queenwood, Wentworth, The Wisley, Loch Lomond and Skibo Castle is rarefied company.
The course is designed by Simon Gidman and arboreally meanders its way through the Hertfordshire countryside for over 7,100 yards.
Centurion Club is also home to a Michelin-starred restaurant – the eponymous Galvin at Centurion overseen by the brothers Jeff and Chris Galvin with Jeff being the chef here.
